The primary mission and focus of Serious About Solutions, Inc. is to create a responsive organization that works effectively with the total community, including the gaming industry and the communities and cohorts most affected by problem gambling, to find successful approaches, including services and treatments, for residents of Massachusetts who are addicted, or becoming addicted, to compulsive, out-of-control gambling.
We seek to become a valuable and dependable resource for community groups and individuals who are concerned about the growing number of Massachusetts citizens, especially those under the age of 30, involved in all forms of gambling, from the lottery to casino games and especially sports betting, which is becoming ubiquitous.
Why It Matters
The explosion in online gaming has created the potential for a public health crisis of monumental proportions, with disastrous long-term consequences for the lives of victims and their families.
Thousands of people are regularly exposed to an exponentially expanding industry selling a highly addictive product, sanctioned and promoted by the government, without adequate or effective restraints. The result is serious harm to mental health and disastrous financial repercussions.
